From be6d61e136aad23cb2df85fce01707d758b37228 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Roman Priesol Date: Mon, 7 Sep 2026 20:17:09 +0200 Subject: [PATCH] Stop coloring forests/scrub the same green as parks MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit The previous pass applied Park Tiles' real park/protected-area green (#b3e378) to wood_a/wood_b/scrub_a/scrub_b as well as park_a/park_b — but in Park Tiles' own Imagery style, that green is specifically the protected-area/administrative color; actual vegetation there is just the aerial photo underneath, which this offline style has no fill equivalent of. Applying it everywhere made the whole map read as green instead of "brown with green parks popping out", which is the actual character of their palette. Forests/scrub now render in muted brown/khaki instead, leaving the vivid green for park_a/park_b alone. --- public/js/map.js | 15 +++++++++++---- 1 file changed, 11 insertions(+), 4 deletions(-) diff --git a/public/js/map.js b/public/js/map.js index 33990dd..0d8fa9f 100644 --- a/public/js/map.js +++ b/public/js/map.js @@ -45,10 +45,17 @@ const OFFLINE_THEME = { background: "#f9f6ef", // real: Park Tiles' own background, hsl(40, 37%, 97%) earth: "#f9f6ef", water: "#a3cedf", - wood_a: "#c3d9a0", - wood_b: "#b3c98f", - scrub_a: "#d6e3b8", - scrub_b: "#cddba8", + // Brown/khaki, not green: in Park Tiles' own Imagery style, green is + // specifically the protected-area/park color (below), not a general land + // cover fill — actual forest there is just the aerial photo underneath, + // which this offline style has no equivalent of.
